Work
Im cold, soaked to the bone, covered in moldy grain, and have been here for less than two hours.
Gonna be a great day, I can tell already!
The pros to my job are pretty sweet, two weeks vacation, two weeks sick time, three personal days, full medical and dental insurance, very little interaction with management, and occasional free meals. So I can't complain too much.
I just wish it smelled better!

time and perspective
being adhd, I have a very unique view of time, where other people see things moving slowly, I have no choice but to see things moving a million miles a minute. I don't take ritalin, I have no desire to ingest rat poison so that my brain will slow down so that I can focus. instead I just take anti oxidants and B12, doesn't do anything for my ability to focus, but it keeps me from running out of energy throughout the day. I am all for people with ADD and ADHD to figure out the best method for learning more about their strengths and weaknesses. I for one can't be in crowded areas for long periods of time because it drains me since im trying to focus on everything all at once!

planned failure
as everyone can see the economy is failing, california is broke, kansas of all places is close behind, and the rest of the world is talking about revoking our credit rating and turning us into a third world country. while I would like to think that we haven't completely lost our collective minds by voting a non american into the white house. yes there is surely some chance that one of his handlers will look at the way things are going and jerk on the reins, but im not going to hold my breath. for too long we hve put grown adults with childrens minds in the white house, andnow its beginning to show. in the next four years we will see the fruits of the 'no child left behind' initiative, and I would like to point out that this is going to RAPE our countries resources even more than they already are. we will have a generation of highschool dropouts that didn't drop out and were kept in the system, keeping them from learning an effective trade or work ethic. do I think that this was the intent? yes, yes I do. do I think it was sme giant overpowering invisible government conspiracy? I sure as shit don't, I just think that people have lost touch with reality, and the only thing that's going to bring them back will be a slap in the face from the economy being flushed down the drain.

Vices
I sat down with a friend I haven't seen in four years, it seems like she has gotten a lot accomplished and had a good time getting there. Now I'm not going to go into the minutia of her job, but one thing that happened is she got married, grats to her on that! but it seems she married into a family of alcoholics. now while I am not against drinking, I firmly believe in moderation. I myself have been known to partake in some single malt, and have created a few shots for the benefit of the females. But all this is besides the point, being controlled by your vices is the short path to a non-enjoyable life. I have seen far too many families torn apart because of alcoholism, and I would rather not see hers end up that way. thankfully there are no kids on the scene as of yet, but I would say that one is on the way if my guesses hold true. my boss was an alcoholic for thirty years, and for the past twenty five he hasn't touched a drop, so I know that people can summon the willpower to quit if they want to. and its not just a matter of per person, its a matter of whether you really want to quit or not.
